Diving in Thailand will thrill any diver. In the local coral seas with hundreds of kinds of soft and hard corals, there
are barracudas, angelfishes, morays, clown anemonefishes, parrotfishes, red lionfishes, anglerfishes, shoals of tuna
fishes, combers, stingrays, rays, turtles and leopard sharks. You can also come across silvertip sharks and blacktip
sharks, and sometimes across whale sharks and royal mantas next to Similan islands. Diving in Thailand can be divided
into two basic regions - Eastern (Thailand Bay) and Western Coast (Andaman Sea). The Andaman Sea is generally more
interesting for diving - Phi Phi islands, Phuket, Koh Yao Yai, and the best – Similan islands. The season lasts from
November to April, it rains here a lot in the time of the European summer. You can dive all year long in the Thailand
Bay. The depth of dives is 5 – 27 m, transport to localities by ships in average 30 minutes. Diving for all divers.
Paradisal and famous Phi Phi islands offer a great amount of not only diving localities but also climbing walls. In the
locality shark point, there is a shipwreck of the sunken 82 meter-long ferryboat King Cruiser from 1997, which is now a
shelter for giant combers and parrotfishes. Leopard sharks lie about on the board and the whole shipwreck is surrounded
by shoals of hundreds of coral fishes. |
